Here are top 6 benefits of building your own shed

Hey guys, if you don't know it yet I'm giving out a FREE Shed building plan on my blog.  Okay, so since you've already read the title, you already know what I'm about to tell you in this article. But I will start with the two basic questions, what is a shed? and why should I build one?

And most of you must have already googled the word "shed"A shed is typically a simple, single-story roofed structure that is used for hobbies, or as a workshop in a back garden or on an allotment, according too wikipedia. But why am I talking about a shed or building a shed on my blog?

Well, it's because, I love taking up DIY projects. I have built many DIY things in and around my house. Two of them are still a dream. One is to build an outdoor Oven and the other one is to build a shed ALL BY MYSELF. DIY projects are fun, not only it keeps you busy but in the end you feel so accomplished and fulfilled that, you built  something that is not possible for many people to do so, all by yourself. And hey, I'm a woman who loves to do these things. So, I'm talking specially to my lovely stay at home mommies like me.

Doing something for yourself and your home, all from scratch with no experience at all, is entirely a different kind of joy.

So, Let's get to the main point, why should you build a shed? How can it benefit you?

1) Store up house junk

You can store up all the junk lying in your house. All the broken pieces of toys, the bicycles, the unused items that just hover around your living room can all be put up in the shed. You will be able to organize your home way better and you will be able to think better.

2) For Relaxation

You can keep the shed to yourself. Keep a nice coffee table and chairs. You can relax in your small shed when you need time out or want to de-stress from work and kids.

3) Hobby Centre

You can create the shed for any hobbies your are pursuing. A shed can be a  focused activity place where you enjoy doing what you love in quiet and peace.

4) Grow organic food

You can grow you own food inside the shed. Or you can store up your gardening equipment in the shed. I used to grow tomatoes, flowers and other food items in my balcony! It was fun at that time, but a shed would have been even better for growing more foods and flowers which do not dry up by too much sunlight.

5) Attractive to see

There are two things your guests will be impressed by, one is your beautiful shed painted and decorated with fresh colors and the other is that you built it yourself! That's really impressive. Believe me when I say, not many people have the ability to take up DIY projects like building your own shed. They lack the understanding and focus only a small group of people have in this world.

6) It is cheaper than hiring someone to build it for you

Yes, it is cheaper to DIY build your shed because you are not paying for a mark-up on materials, labor, or installation fees. Most contractors charge a minimum call fee of $90 per project, plus hourly labor ranging from $50 - $100 per hour, plus up to a 30% mark-up on materials.
